Myth #1: “Farming is not really a job” What are the real careers in agriculture? What job training will be needed? Where do we find this information?
Myth #2: “Eating or going local is hard to do” Common myths students have about the ability to farm in cold climates are explored.
Myth #3: “Organic is always better” Many students think that because organic product is usually more expensive – it must be better – what are the facts?
Myth #4: “Agriculture is hard on the environment" Why are farmers committed to best practices? What are the issues and regulations about farming and the environment?
Myth #5: “The grocery store is where all our food comes from” What disconnects us from our food – where it grows – how it’s processed?
